The pillow block Bearings are essentially a variant of deep groove ball bearings; they are characterized by a spherical outer diameter surface on the outer ring, allowing them to fit into a corresponding concave spherical seat within the bearing housing to provide self-aligning capability. These bearings are primarily designed to accommodate combined radial and axial loads—with radial loads predominating—and are generally unsuitable for bearing axial loads in isolation.
